The Waves Crashing

The sound of crashing waves fill my ears.
Seagulls fly around me, calling to their mates.
They act like old classmates.
Waves are as blue as the sky.
Kookaburras surround me.
I realise I’m free.
Sand covers my toes.
It’s like I just froze.
The sea splashes over me with ease.
I unfreeze.
It goes silent. All I can hear is birds calling
and trees blowing in the wind.
The sun comes out.
Birds go dashing.
A ginormous wave comes crashing over me!
I was under the water for at least 10 seconds.
The ocean was slowly bringing me out to sea.
I come up for air.
I feel like a fish in the boiling hot sand.
