Along the water’s edge, waiting

The anticipation of a lingering hope,

To sail across the verge of mastication

Into a longing albatrosses' desire.

Yet, misguided by avarice and temperament

On a vast, edge of eternity

Among the briny deep.

One misspoken yearning

Could fluctuate this threatened species hopes

Just. Like. That.

A fishmonger’s greed among retailers of its kind

Adopting an apparatus to induce efficiency

A trawl, a fate to be reckoned with

For seabirds of this nature,

And their existence along the water’s edge

Was gone,

Just. Like. That.
