Sounds in a life of a tree

The birds chirp,
water r u n s,
my leaves
fall.
I’m a tree and a BIG wooden wall!
I hear tourists’ feet crunch on my friends’ dead leaves.
They sometimes grieve.
When the birds chirp,
they ask me for my body.
When I wave my branches, “Yes,”
they sing me a song.
They go for so long!
When the water r u n s,
the deer and bears and birds and seedlings come.
This is where they laugh.
The night has laid its dark blanket over us.
The crickets dance.
The owls sing.
This is when I go to sleep.
