Nature Poem

I’ve always loved the silence,
makes me think about the old days
I can hear a heartbeat, I can hear the start of a long sigh,
I can hear the song of a robin; I haven’t written my own in a long time.
And it's just fine.
I’m in a tree writing songs about,
how we’d play and muck around.
About the time when you fell in the mud,
how we laughed, you got mad
and we’re still friends.
We would play, the whole day,
we’d take our friends to the park
picnic food, under the trees and the bark
It’s all okay, and I miss them days when we were,
make me a stick house,
make a list of how it is, how it was, how it has to be,
the sticks fell in and we laughed, and we cried and screamed,
couldn’t make it back even if I tried,
some things I remember when it's late at night
we were in the trees.
