Love's true nature

How can I forget about him?
When he is like the wind
Brushing up against my leaves every time I feel like I’m no longer falling
It’s a type of sting
That leaves you breathless, intoxicated
You know he has this effect on everyone yet it feels like it’s only yours to keep
Slowly it gets less transparent
More complicated, less romantic
As a once blue sky is filled with clouds
That makes you wonder ‘what else have I not seen of him?’
And as soon as I get back to where I’m meant to be
I’m swallowed whole by a black sea
His current sweeps me in as I sweep up tears
And my ice heart echoes our calling song through the trees
And when I finally get him it’s with dirt-stained gloves
Because at the root of all evil lays our love
And it took a while for the rain to wash away his sunset touch
Guess I had to go through all of the seasons
To know the true nature of our love
