Amaroo. A beautiful place.

Monarchs dance to Fur Elise in patchwork paddocks,

Foxes silently follow frightened rabbits.

Lazy angus as soft as snow, amble, serene on a hill,

Their moos echo through the rolling countryside.

A willow tree sings a soothing melody,

As young calves doze under her weeping branches.

The river, a journal, holding its secrets and stories,

A child, bright and playful, twisting and turning on its way.

Built by grandpa’s strong body, and grandma’s sense of style,

Through the old rustic house, their soul truly shines.

A best friend, a memory, been there since forever,

The hay shed, the rusty tractor, the collapsed timber tree house.

Amaroo. A beautiful place.

My roots, my core, the place I will always call home.
